Is Home Study right for my family? The Home Study Program is an alternative for Faith Formation that is becoming an increasingly preferred option at St. Susanna. Learning through Home Study allows flexibility and convenience and the ability to learn together as a family.
The Faith First Curriculum - The Faith First curriculum features family sessions that can be taught with all ages at the same time, requiring only one teacher’s guide. Internet supplements and sacrament preparation curriculum are also available. More info on www.faithfirst.com
Monthly Parent Meetings Provide Support - There are many families choosing Home Study for a variety of reasons. A monthly parent meeting is held for encouragement and support, as well as, discussions on chosen topics.
WHAT PARENT PARTICIPANTS ARE SAYING ABOUT FAITH FORMATION…
“This has been a great success for us! We made Advent wreaths, did a project for the needy, acted out mass, and are now in our Sacraments. At the end of each session we pray together and everyone adds an intercession. The kids are soaking it up like sponges!"
-Mary Imfeld
"Ben and I both are getting more out of it than we expected. The Faith First book has sparked many conversations about moral living, how Jesus wants us to live and different choices in life. I am so glad we are doing home study!" -Terry Stillwell
"We're pleased with our progress, it is the right pace for us. We are also enjoying our special time together."
-The Lennon Family

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT HOME STUDY
Q. Why do families choose the Home Study Option?
A. There are as many reasons for this as there are families. For some, it’s just scheduling, for others, it’s an important time to share with children. Some families have children with special needs. If preferred, home study provides an alternative to a classroom setting.
Q. When do you sit down and study with your children?
A. Again, there are as many times and ways to do this as there are families. Families work it out and find a routine that works. Encouragement and support are provided at the monthly meetings.
