What does it mean to be a CORE servant minister?
Most students who apply to be a CORE STUDENT will be accepted into this leadership role. We are looking for many different types of people. You need to have a desire to grow in and share your faith and to journey with your peers. (If the youth ministers feel that your maturity level or number of commitments to other activities/clubs, etc. make it difficult for you to be a CORE STUDENT, Jenny will discuss this with you individually.) CORE students will serve as a training ground for PA’s.
The type of leadership is flexible. You will be encouraged to take on as much as possible while respecting your personality and your schedules. This year, the CORE group will be trying something new. Two-three times a year, the CORE students will be visiting the 6th grade CFP classes and running a mini Faith Alive meeting for them. (You will be PA’s for the 6th grade CFP!)
What are CORE student leaders (servant ministers) required to do?
All CORE student leaders need to read the CORE STUDENT Obligations and to sign that agreement as well.
Please talk directly to Jenny if any of these expectations will cause undo difficulties. Otherwise, if CORE student leaders are not able to meet these expectations, they will be respectfully asked to step down. Being a CORE student is a servant minister positions. These are not positions of power and privilege, but service to the Faith Alive group.
It may not be for everyone.
But it can be for you!
