VIRTUS® Child Awareness & Fingerprinting Minimize

All who intend to work or volunteer in any of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati parishes, schools or institutions must attend a VIRTUS® Child Awareness Session.  All new volunteers and staff must attend before beginning their ministry.   Volunteers trained in the old system have until June of 2014 to comply.   Sessions are scheduled here at St. Susanna and additional ones will be scheduled throughout the year.   However, volunteers may attend a VIRTUS® Child Awareness Session at other locations.   Registration at www.virtusonline.org gives details on locations and times.  Survivors of sexual abuse and/or family members of survivors may find the viewing of the videos in the VIRTUS® Child Awareness Session difficult due to their emotional content.

In addition to attending a VIRTUS® Child Awareness Session all new volunteers are required to be fingerprinted. Fingerprinting Sessions are held at St Maximilian Kolbe Parish,
www.saint-max.org.  A background release form is needed to take along to St. Maximilan for the fingerprinting process to take place.  Click here to download the form or call the parish office to have a copy of the form e-mailed to you.   It will be helpful to call St. Maximilian Kolbe (777-4322) prior to be arriving to make sure the fingerprinting site is up.  For additional information on the Decree on Child Protection visit the Archdiocesan web-site.
