Every week, volunteers from St. Susuanna make over 650 Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches and 100 sack lunches that are then delivered to the St. Anthony Center in Downtown Cincinnati on Monday morning. There they are distributed to the many local homeless and poor people. Many recipients arrive as early as 5:00am to get in line for a day job, and do not get out of line when the soup kitchens open at 8:00am because they do not want to lose their spot in line. Each week, the following ingredients are used:
700 ounces of Peanut Butter |
500 ounces of Jelly |
65 loaves of bread, or enough buns for 650 sandwiches |
100 drink boxes 100 pieces of fruit |
100 servings of cookies or snacks |
650 plastic sandwich bags for sandwiches 100 ziplock bags for cookies/snacks |
100 Oversized or 8lb lunch bags |
