Fr. Rob Jack, host of Driving Home the Faith on Sacred Heart Radio, will give three Lenten reflections on the titles of the Lord, based on the Litany of the Eucharist, during Holy Hour on Thursdays at 7:00pm.
- Thursday, March 13th, 7pm: Supersubstantial Bread
- Thursday, March 20th, 7pm: Unbloodied Sacrifice
- Thursday, March 27th, 7pm: Medicine of Immortality
Father Jack holds an MDiv and an MA in Biblical Studies from the Athenaeum of Ohio, Mount Saint Mary’s Seminary. He also has an STL in Mariology from the International Marian Research Institute. In 2007, Fr. Rob Jack established an apostolate called Delivering the Faith, which focuses on producing and distributing catechetical talks and homilies on CD. He creates Rosaries and produces prayer cards to support individuals in strengthening their faith. His motto for evangelization is, “If you want someone to do something, put it in their hands!” He has been active in Catholic Radio since 1999 and contributed to the founding of Sacred Heart Radio.
The Fish Fry will run for six weeks, through April 11th, from 5:00-8:00pm. Drive-thru service is available, and in addition to our regular sit-down service, we are offering a quiet sit-down option for the “Young at Heart” in the Rose Room. We look forward to seeing you!
All are invited to join us for Stations of the Cross in the church each Friday of Lent at 3:15pm, 7:00pm, and 8:00pm (in Spanish). The Stations of the Cross are a wonderful way to accompany Jesus on His way to Calvary, reflecting prayerfully on what He suffered to redeem us, using words and images to experience Christ’s love for us.
We encourage parents to attend at 3:15pm with their children after school. Student readers are needed to read the reflection for each Station at 3:15pm, click here to sign up.
On Sundays during Lent, everyone is invited to pray the Rosary following the 9:30am Mass (we will begin at approximately 10:45am), with special intentions for our Ugandan Family of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish (OLPH). Parishioners from OLPH will join us virtually.
We will meet in the church, behind the choir section. For those who would like to participate from home, please click here for the Rosary livestream.
There will be a special Lenten Healing Prayer Service on Saturday, March 22nd, at 7:00pm in the church. Join us for a night of praise and worship music, the Sacrament of Confession, group healing prayer, and time with individual Prayer Teams for healing. Contact the Parish Office, or email calpins@stsusanna.org, for more details.
Lent is an opportunity to return to God with all your heart. We have a great opportunity to take advantage of the Lord’s love, mercy and forgiveness at the Lenten Penance Service which is scheduled for Thursday, April 10th at 7:00pm.
We will have a number of priests available to help us celebrate the Sacrament of Penance. There will be prayer, Gospel reading and reflection along with an examination of conscience and act of contrition before Confessions. After Confession, once you have finished your prayers of penance/thanksgiving, you are free to leave as there is no formal conclusion to the service.
This Lenten season, the FON Twinning Ministry invites you to reach out to Our Lady of Perpetual Help (OLPH) in Mbarara, Uganda, by participating in efforts to raise funds to complete the construction of the Pastoral Center for use by the Archdiocese of Mbarara. It will be located near OLPH Nyamitanga – St. Susanna’s Twinning Parish. Click here for more information.
