Women of the Word (WOW)

Our mission is to provide, empower and encourage the women of St. Susanna Church (age 18 and older) to grow with us in faith, spiritual and personal growth, fellowship and service throughout all stages of life. All we do is through the Glory of God and the power of the Holy Spirit.

What are some of the activities and events that take place? Does it cost to join WOW? Do you have to be a parishioner? Where do our funds go? Want to get more involved?

We have a Prayer Breakfast, Retreat, several social activities, a Christmas Dinner, and an end-of-year Summer Picnic.

Also, WOW has been operating the annual Garage Sale in June for St. Susanna Parish for many years. We have been fortunate to have great success. A separate Garage Sale committee handles planning and welcomes anyone willing to volunteer their time.

No, all women are free to join.

We welcome all parish members, friends, and family.

WOW makes several charitable donations from the garage sale profits to the Schuh Center, St. Vincent de Paul, and other charities. We also helped fund the church’s financial requests in the past as needed, such as a new organ, songbooks, new carpeting, etc.

The WOW board meets quarterly in the church’s Undercroft to plan future activities and events or approve requests for financial assistance as needed. An elevator is available.
